BEEPATHNET | SUSTAINABILITY
Beepathnet Reloaded 2022 enviages the participation of residents of Bergamo and its surrounding areas in promoting sustainable management of the city through urban beekeeping.
It is an international project which Linificio supports by carrying out tangible practical actions aimed at protecting the environment, preserving biodiversity, quality of life and food self-sufficiency.
Bergamo thus becomes bee-friendly: if cities manage to preserve the natural environment in urban areas, allowing bees to thrive, then it is on the right track for environmental protection and biodiversity conservation.
The project addresses the challenges of the urban environment, of biodiversity and food self-sufficiency related to urban beekeeping through integrated and participatory action aimed at promoting the culture of pollinating insects and thus creating greater awareness.
The BeePathNet Reloaded partnership connects five cities: Ljubljana (Slovenia, project leader), Bansko (Bulgaria), Bergamo, Sosnowiec (Poland), Osjek (Croatia).
BeePathNet Reloaded is part of the URBACT Transfer network and lies within the URBAN III 2014-2020 program, co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
The project is directed by the Bergamo’s Botanical Gardens.
