Pierluigi Fusco Girard, CEO, highlighted in his speech how linen, in addition to being the oldest material in the world, holds the sustainability record compared to other fibers due to its lower environmental impact:

“Thanks to Marevivo for involving me in this roundtable to address issues that Linificio, a certified B Corp™, incorporates into its daily operations: protecting life underwater and on land through continuous innovation and targeted interventions. Among these is the development of linen-based food packaging nets in collaboration with KUKU International Packaging, an alternative created to reduce the quantity of plastic nets that continue to flow into seas and oceans. The energy transition is a matter of urgency; we should not postpone our responsibility. It’s fine to talk about sustainable development and responsibility toward future generations, but we must act here and now. The problem must be tackled together, even involving different sectors, because it is a complex issue, and much can be achieved collectively.”
